Well, for today, i went to tjc together with nic ong, liling and karen for the tjc band practice...things were getting quite of awkward then we were in the school itself...things for me started to feel different, perhaps because it isn't bedok view....While we were outside the tjc band room, we were like hesitating, whether to back out or continue to move on...i was like backing out now would make my trip wasted...(and waste my bus fare) then when someone from tjc band talked to us, we finally slowly proceeded into the band room..
Things were a little bit different from bvcb and tjc band...the way the two bands work..the atmosphere...etc etc...and they introduced me to their flute section leader known as xinyun when i told one of the members that i play the flute....the flute given was of a brand that was unknown to me, as i only know about yamaha and altus, hee....but well that flute was in a rather good conditition...i was then introduced to the two other members - jermain and cheryl - hope i remembered and spelled their names correctly.
then finally the band started to warm up, the score was called "20 tune up" or something like that if i am not wrong....haiz..too long never play le...starting to play was like very difficult.
oh my gosh the flute section of tjc band was really very power...all know vibrato, all play so nice...esp one flute solo that the SL played, super nice lo...
the first piece played was something called "danz....."- which i cannot recall cos the name was kind of like long for me to rmb- lots and lots of running notes, the time signature (6/8) was like almost disappearing from my mind le....almost cannot count...
the next piece was "celebrate" if i am not wrong...a nice piece and relatively easier compared to the first one... with the exception that the running notes were very fast, perhaps too fast for me to sight-read...
last piece played was "joyful exclamations", that piece also not bad, just that the running notes were kind of a killer....flute is always like this, running and running notes...well have to slowly play and play till i get it....
finally the whole practice ended..time rather flies when in band...the same thing applies to bvcb...well i am kind of stuck whether to join their band for their concert...if you are reading this, can help give me some comments so that i can have a bit of advice? thanks a lot.
